what happened to my floppy drive?

what happened i dont know, but all of a sudden a few months ago my floppy drive just stopped working. the light in from is always on whenever i turn on the computer, but there is no disk inside of it. the cables are perfectly fine. im lost right now. so can i get any help?

Usually when the lite is on all the time, the cable is turned 180 degrees either on the mobo connection or the floppy drive. If nothing was changed from when it worked to now, then suspect either a bad cable or bad floppy. Replacing either is pretty cheap.
