CD Drive Could Not be Viewed at Windows XP

I know that there's a tweak on this (I hope so..) My computer was running perfectly on Windows 98 when I decided to install or upgrade it to Windows XP Professional (actually I installed the XP, with all the deletion of partitions, formatting and conversion of the FAT system of it to NTFS)..but when I tried to view the CD drive at the Windows Explorer, it's not there..but it could detect the CD Drive during post...Help...anyone??
