my laptop inspirion 5100 has been running hotter lately. i live in a very dusty enviroment is the cause but what can i do to clean it i have taken my top cover ofdf my desktop but not this easy with a laptop! any suggestions on how to clean the inside.

Well it could damage it, but try putting the end of a vacuum cleaner on the exhaust vent and turning it on...

i thought of that but i looked an the inlets an exhaust are not clogged with dust. this does run alittle warm as it is it doesn't have a moblie chip in it i think P4 2.66

I tried once using a paint brush. The small size. Tilted it by 45 deg. Then brushed off the dust. Im afraid to use a vacuum. If some of your componets are covered with dustt it prevents air flow. There are some notebook coolers out there.

Go to your manufacturers website and look up the instructions for separating the case. Get a can of compressed air and carefully blow out the inside. Static from a vacuum cleaner could damage your computer.
