Hello. I recently upgraded my system to windows 98 2nd ed. I also upgraded my hardware to 40 gig wd harddrive, Abit KT7A motherboard, and AMD 1200 tbird with 266fsb. Everthing has worked fine for a month. But now my system insist on running Scan disk every time I turn on my computer. The only hint of an error message is that the system says that my system was not shut
down correctly. But it seems to be shuting down normally. after runing the short scan it wants to run the long version of scan disk that takes hours. I have let it go through this process but the system never finds anything wrong.
The scans turn out fine. How can I get my system to stop running scan disk on every boot up? The system seems to run fine otherwise.

Start>Run>msconfig>click on the START UP tab.
If there is a start up item for scandisc uncheck the box.
You can also hit the SPACE BAR and stop scandisc from
running and boot the pc into windows.
