I Want To File Sharing For 2 Of My Windows Me Computers

I have 2 computers at home. They both are compaq and have ethernet cards in both of them. I have the cable and plugged them directly to each other. How can i do it such that I can access files from that computer and that computer can access files from my computer?/????????What is the setup process? Do I have the wrong card? What is it, I tried setting it up and they dont see each other???HELP

I am a newbie but I will try to help.
Find "my network places" once you open that there should be a "home networking" icon it there which starts a connection wizard.
I have done some file sharing, but I don't remember the exact settings.
Both machines have to be run through the wizard
What kind of cable are you running between them.
You may need to use a Hub.

If you are hooking the two PC's directly together you will need 1 crossover cable. Or you can get a cheap hub and hook both PC's to it with 2 straight cables or for a little more money get a combination router/hub (Linksys or Barricade are just two) that will also connect to a cable or dsl modem and act as a firewall if you ever plan to go that route.
