Cases to buy

these are the cases I am wanting to buy. Good price around my budget and looks good too. I don't really want to buy anything fancy even though I like fancy I can't afford anything fancy until 2500 when I get a job from NASA. HA HA HA!!!!

Just opinions on the cases I want to buy. I am not sure which ones yet, but I will see in the store when I look at them. btw I have all the other components for the computer including a junk case i use at the moment. That's why I want a new case.

or maybe I can get a little fancier and go with a case up to $80 (CAD) which is my budget. However the $39.99 cases look pretty good. What you say?

Looks like a fine choice to me. The thing to remember when purchasing a case is that the "look" is not as important as the power supply.

If you like the look of that case, by all means buy it. Just be sure that when you build your system, to put in a quality power supply.

Yes my friend I already have a good power supply.
Enermax ATX 12V v2.0 with 2 fans and so quiet now on my junk case! LOL!
I need a good case.

OK, thats a great power supply choice. Since you have that covered, get any case that you like. I am an Antec guy personally, but pretty much any case will get the job done, so pick out your favorite. :)

Antec? Where can I find that? How much and is it sold here in Canada, and better in Toronto?

I dont remember any any PSU with those cases...anyways..he already has that covered. What I did notice is at least one does not come with any fans. If you have a choice, try to get cases with 120mm fan cutouts since 120mm fans are quieter. One case had holes for 4x 80mm fans. All those fans would be on the loud side.

I have one fan I think it's 80mm, however I can buy a 120mm fan and use it on the case I am thinking of buying huh?

Grab the AT3181 that you like and a 120mm fan. Install the fan in the rear for exhaust and you should have plenty of airflow. :)

okay that case is very good price. Would you buy that case if you were me out of what I seleted to buy or vs. other cases at that price range (in Canadian dollars)?

Personally I wouldn't get that case but that doesn't mean it's not a good one, it just means I don't care for it's looks. But if you like the way it looks, go ahead and get it. You're the one who's going to have to look at it, not us.

yes those cases look very nice, but are very expensive and I prefere that $39.99 case I seen. I probably would stick to that case.

will do that. I will buy that AT3181 case and a fan 120mm, but from that site which fan is good to get in your opinion or I can probably buy one at a later time? I want one that is most silent. 120mm. I have a 80mm, but want to buy a good 120mm fan.

I am looking at these fans. What do you guys say about them? Which do you recommend me buy? I also want to buy 2 fans for my 2 hdd because they get real hot when my PC is on sometimes for whole day. I havew 40 and 20 GB 7,200 RPM hdd.

there is only one fan 120mm which I can buy and the other fans is to cool the hdd which my drives get very hot.

If you really want to get a hard drive cooler, I guess the one you linked to will work...but it requires a lot of room under the hard drive so you won't be able to stack the hard drives one over the other unless your drive cage is pretty big to allow you to space them out. And the fans use sleeve bearings instead of ball bearings so they may not last very long.

I am not sure if you really want a hard drive cooler. You should look at a bunch of different canadian sites to see if they have your case, and a 120mm fan since that factory place dosent. That way you can order noth at the same time and you want have to worry about ordering from 2 different sites.

If you install the HDDs in the 5.25" drive bays you can use bay coolers that fit into the 5.25" bay opening...but that leaves less bays for your optical drives.

I bought the 3181 case. Nice case! Looks cool and offers what I need the only problem is installing the front ports. The front has 2 USB, 1 mic and headphone jack. I checked my motherboard manual but when I look at the usb connection in the book it says this:

My case (tower) has a few cables associated with the front ports.
It's kind of hard to discribe, here I go. The pins on the USB connector on the motherboard are as follows and are listed on the same page of the manual above. (USB78) USB+5V, USB_P8-, GND, NC, and so on, however the cables that is associated with the USB and/or (I am not sure which cables are associated with the front audio ports) on the ends of the cables it says different names like left, right and so on. You guys understand? Where should I add the front port cables on the motherboard?
