screen resolution

HI my freind has this (http://www.biostar.com.tw/products/mainboard/board.php?name=P4VMA-M%20v2.3) motherboard and this (http://product.samsung.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_product_detail.jsp?eUser=&prod_id=LTP266WX%2fXAA)
screen.the native resolution for the screen is 1280-768@60 hrz now the o/b graphics only gives me either 1024-720 or 1280-1024 both r not supported by the screen so i am stuck at 800-600.. any ideas?

you could purchase a cheap video card to install into the pc and disable the onboard graphics.

It will run at 1024x768 if you use the controls to take it out of widescreen 16:9 mode and put it in standard 4:3 mode.

That looks to me to be a simple selection with the remote control. Download the manual and read it.

HI i know it's been a long time i just didnt have a chance to go to my friends house.

ok i made a mistake the native resolution is 1280x720 and not 768 the card only gives me 1280x768 so i am stuck at 800x600 any help on that?

Are you sure it doesn't let you define custom ones in the properties panel??

On my laptop, I go into computer properties (from the desktop right click), and it allows me to preset screen resolutions.

Yes of course but can you manually put the exact resolution you want?
Or do you move the slider and you then depend on the settings the computer will give you?

Yes, it's a driver issue. If the latest drivers won't allow that resolution to the selected, then the video card doesn't support that resolution. The only solution is to get a video card that does support that resolution.

HI just to finish the story i finally got around to install an old geforce 2 card i had lying around and evrything is fine:) :) :) .
