Im considering purchasing this item. From what im reading there are dual cores in the VC. My question is, can i purchase a identical VC and install it in the mobo (SLI mobo of course). I hope im making sense here, but there are 2 cards in one...if i add another should be like having 4...is this possible?

No. You also can only use it with that specific motherboard to enable SLI.

so i can run 2 VC's on that mobo, even tho they have dual cores, correct?

It doesn't look like you can run two of those cards. The SLI cards have the goldfingers on top for the SLI bridge. I don't see them on that card.

I gotta admit that would be nice though. 4 6600GT GPUs mmm.

Edit - nevermind. Re-read glc's post. I guess this is something vendor specific from Gigabyte. I still don't understand how the SLI works on this board though... I thought they all used the interconnect bridge.

Im sorry for the confusion, the package comes with the mobo and VC, the thing im lookin for is...can i buy an identical VC to match the VC that the package comes with. The thing im worried about is, with the mobo accecpt another VC like the one the package comes with, due to the VC having dual processors?

THank you again for your response!!!!

No, you cannot add a second video card. The card/motherboard combo is SLI and you can't SLI twice. The only reason they have a second slot is for using 2 conventional single core video cards in SLI if you buy the motherboard standalone.

Blast thanks for the help fellas...i think im still gonna get the package...seems like it work awesome anyways...*sigh* 4 VC's...

6600GT 3D1 only works on Gigabyte mobos and is still very buggy. A single 6800GT will provide better performance in most cases as well as upgradeability (3D1 cannot be SLi'd). Dual 6800GT's are a real force to be reckoned with
