A shop around here sells an OEM version of the SB Audigy 2 ZS sound card for like 70% the price of the non-OEM card, which is a great deal. But what exactly is OEM? Does it mean I have to buy the card with a new computer, or can I buy it now without a problem?

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. The only difference between it and a "Retail" card is that OEMs do not come in the box or with the same accessories. Also, OEMs have short warranties, usually only 30days.

You can definetly buy it now. You will get the card and a driver CD. The Retail card comes in the box, with some games and a longer warranty.

If you can get it at a great deal, I say go for it. Its a great card. And no one needs a Tomb Raider game. ;)
