Anyone know how exactly to enable AGP? I didnt realise it could be disabled...

p.s I know its disabled because a couple of my games have told me and also it sais this on Everest.

"Problem AGP is disabled. This may cause performance penalty."

Although I can still run HL2 on best graphics with my FX5600XT there are some glitches on other games.

Thanks

Chris

You need to install the chipset drivers that came with your motherboard CD, or I suppose their website.

Install the Intel Chipset Identification Utility if you have an Intel chipset motherboard. If it's a Via-based board, install the Via Hyperions. If it's a SiS board, I dunno what to say.

Could the BIOS setting also be the problem...?

if the AGP was disabled, why would your video card still work?

I was wondering this, too. Since the motherboard drivers seem to have fixed it, it probably has something to do with Windows THINKING the agp was disabled when it wasn't.

It said it was running in PCI mode...

And all my games run very smoothly now, got rid of all the glitches!

All add-in cards are pci cards to windows until the AGP drivers for the motherboard are installed.
That's what tells windows that it's got an AGP slot with a card in it and what to do with it.
