Senior Citizens are Gamers Too!

She curses at the TV when "Prince of Persia" gets tough. She's broken her video game controllers. And she's conquered "Resident Evil 4" enough times to earn a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo. Barbara St. Hilaire is a typical hardcore gamer, but with one key difference: she's a grandmother.

When people talk about the PlayStation generation, they're not referring to people who collect Social Security. But a couple of older gamers, Barbara St. Hilaire, 69, and Doris Self, 79, are making their mark in the gaming world and aren't letting old age stand in their way.

"I don't see what the big fuss is," St. Hilaire said from her home in Cleveland. "This is just me."

most of the people that play on my uo server are between 45-60. even have a grandma that plays with us every nite. :cool:

That's pretty awesome wolfie... my Dad doesn't play online, he likes games he can take his time with, like Mahjongg and cards

In all honesty, I don't know a lot of seniors who do that David M... most I know are quite active, its the 40 y.o.'s that I know that mindlessly fixate on the box

I think we are both right. I have seen people of all age groups zoned out in front of the TV learning essentially nothing. It's pretty sad.

I tryed to get my Dad to play Medal of Honor but he dosent want to. He just likes watching me play and get killed. He keeps saying "your gonna get killed" or "your dead" even though I dont die. I do play games with a couple of 40 year olds though.

im 48 and i sit and play uo online almost every nite, i have to laff at myself because there no way i could of seen my dad doing this when he was 48. :D

but i finally got my dad to use a compter 5 years ago when he was 75.

Hah...I am 45 and play as well as any 20 year old. I think gaming stimulates the brain and keeps the reflexes sharp.

I could say the same of many 13-19 year olds. When I'm not on-line or gaming I can be found practicing my combat roll in my kayak. btw I am over 50......
