For my new build I need a printer, it can be all in one or just print but if the second I also need a scanner. Does anyone have any good recommendations? I dont want to spend over 350. I print alot of color stuff including pictures and I will be buying a digital camera soon so please keep that in mind.

I like the Canon IP series printers for a stand-alone printer. Ink refills are inexpensive comared to others and print quality is excellent. For a scanner/printer combo, HP seems to make some of the best offereings.

As a regular reader of PC Advisor magazine, i thought i'd point out their top 5.

All in one printer & scanner (http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/index.cfm?go=hardware.top&cat=49)

Mono Laser Printers (http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/index.cfm?go=hardware.top&cat=18)

Hope that helps somewhat.

i have a canon, it does the job and the ink is cheap. also have a cannon scanner it does a good job. my printer is the iP1500, its ok for my use , pictures look ok for me but i am not too critical, they make more expensive ones.

Looking at that top 5 list makes me cringe a little. Epson ink is expensive and I've had problems with the mechanical part of Epson printers. Great print quality but crappy machine IMO. Dell printers are made by Lexmark, I believe, and Lexmark has ridiculous prices for ink. Again, I'd stick with the Canon. Another consideration when using an all-in-one. If one feature fails, the entire machine is down. If you have the desk space, I prefer a separate printer and scanner.

Well, you'll need a fax machine then too! :D But ya didn't say anything about a fax machine. ;)

Here's (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16828102161) a printer/copier/fax with great ratings. Just add the scanner above and you're still within your budget.

You'll need to shop around for the best prices on ink. Sam's club has a 3 pack of black w/paper for $10.67 and color cartridges for $9.33 ea. Best buy has the colors in a 3 pack for $27.99 (an equivalent). Inksell.com has the compatible cartridges for $6.95 ea.

are there any small, sleek printers? Not necessariyl amazing quality but definitely get the job done with a good looking product in the end.

If you can stand the price, Canon makes one specially for use with notebook computers that's pretty sleek.

That is pretty much what I am looking for. I mean when I went to IkEA and bought my desk on top there was a HP printer dark blue and kind of silver and it was bigger but not much and I have not been able to find it. Kind of like this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16828104279)
