I have been running a RAID 0 for about a year now. It is my first one. No problems at all until this evening. I turned my computer on after a routine cleaning to make sure it would start before I closed the case up. Programs running, music playing and all that stuff. I keep my excess wires rolled up and hide them under my bottom HD (one of two in the array). This time while I was putting them under the HD the music from the online radio started skipping like a cd skips. Next I get a screen that is briefly up but not long enough to completely read. It says something about windows has to shut down due to hardware issues. I unplug and check all the wires, making sure everything is in place and seated all the way in there correct places. When I start up now, every time it says "status off line", "Problem is detected with array 1","Enter ctrl-F to enter fast build utility or press Esc to continue booting". I dont want to enter the fast build utility because I dont want to rebuild my array, i'll loose everything!!. And weather or not I press Esc it takes me to the same screen where it says "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key".

Not having a back up at all, I know dumb, what can I do at this point to save all the info on my drive array and have my computer back up and running like nothing ever happened. Please tell me I didnt just erase everything!

I posted the above problem at another forum at about.com. The following is the only response I have received to the post;
"make sure all of your wires and cables are seated properly, then rebuild the array. All it does is reassign the drives to the array, it doesn't overwrite them."

Is this correct? If so, to rebuild the array do I go into "fast build"or what? And do I reassign the drives or does it do it automatically?

Anny help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jason

hit F8 or something like that depending on your computer for the boot menu...it may help.
