i was lookin at specs to my computer online and i found out that it is a raid-ready model, meaning raid can be enabled on there. ok so how do i enable this raid and actually before even that what is raid 0 raid 1 and whatever other type of raid there is. What is raid good for? plz help and thank you for your help

RAID is normally used in enterprise/business type environments. Usually it's purpose is to prevent data loss. One drive or more fails, and the data is still safe and sound on another drive (or more).

The novelty these days for home use is RAID 0. Which really isn't RAID at all, because there is no redundancy. RAID has plenty of applications, but most people have no use for it at home.

you need 2+ hard drives in order to enable raid, depending on your current hard drive situation it may be owrth it or not.
