I'm trying to reinstall Win XP but as I'm told to press a key to boot from the CD, nothing happens (the computer boots as usual). Anyway, I believe this is because I've got a cordless keyboard (and mouse). The keyboard responds at the beginning of the start-up process so I can enter BIOS and do whatever I like there, but in that particular moment when I'm requested to press any key to boot from the CD... nothing! There is a diode on the remote adapter (or whatever it is called) that flashes when I strike a key, but its totally dead during the above mentiuoned period. Anybody recognize this problem? I figure I need to get me one of them old keyboards to succeed with the installation.

Problem solved. I don't know if this goes for all cordless keyboards/mice, but I had to enable something called "USB legacy support" in the BIOS.

That applies to *all* USB keyboards and mice, not just cordless units.
