just built a new pc.
I'm still using the old mouse which is a wacom tablet thingy.
It makes me want to throw it out of the window like a frisbee.
I'm looking into getting myself a nice mouse.

I'm not a gamer (yet, though i doubt i'll become a serious one). I tried Half Life 2 ,which I got for free, for 10 minutes and it made me dizzy.

I looked at the mx1000 and mx700 (because they caught my eye at the store) and they're obviously nice but also expensive.

any recommendations?
wireless vs. wired?
IR vs. RF?

I have the MX1000, and I love it. Opticals work well, but the lazer is just a dream in comparison to any of the old ball mice and that's all I can compare it to since my optical is gone at the moment.

The charge times are maybe once a week with a good amoutn of use, so it's not a nightly thing. Range is no problem. I think it's great.

I like the wireless, since I spin each and every way under my desk, and have my legs on my tower sometimes, or here or there, and the Keyboard cable is enough of a pain to deal with. I can just lean back with the wireless and not have a worry in the world about the cord reaching.

I would vote for a wireless, MX1000 being my point of knowledge, but I remember the optical to know it wasn't bad by any means(while being quite a bit cheaper)... It's just whether ya wanna go the extra step with the extra cash.

They're both good mice. For normal use, you probably won't notice the difference though. Wireless is useful, but its annoying having to recharge the mice. I don't like the logitech charging cradle though. I have the mx700 and the cradle won't recognize the mouse when I put it in to charge it unless I wiggle it a bit. It also damaged the finish on the mouse
