I have an older PC running Windows XP Pro on a 18G SCSI hard drive. I got a new 80G IDE drive. What is the best way to copy the hard disk image from the SCSI drive to the IDE drive?

You need a good imaging and ghosting utility. Symantec's imaging/ghosting software isn't too bad. I had to use it on just over 10 computers at work.

I have never use ghost software before. Is it simple to use? Can I simply leave the original dirve as primary, put the new drive in as secondary, and then start the ghost software to do the imaging autmatically?

It's not too hard to use...just read the instructions. Can I simply leave the original dirve as primary, put the new drive in as secondary, and then start the ghost software to do the imaging autmatically?Yes, you can set up the drives in that fashion but the software isn't "automatic". You have to tell it which drive is the "source" drive (the drive you want to create an image from) and which drive is the "destination" drive (the drive you want the image to be installed to). From there the software will just do it's thing.
