Yeah guys i like to clear my history online, but this on specific web site i visited a long time ago just doesnt clear, i type it in to see if it will auto type it in my address bar and it always pops up, i cant get rid of it.. im wondering if there is possible a bigger problem to it? like this certain website is tracking me or what not, and if i can get rid of it somehow?

well, when you clear history dont forget to clear the cache and temp files and cockies.

it could also be a pop up when you go to a certain site.
try removing your spyware on your pc.

Run a program such as Ad-aware and test your system for spyware.

Open your favorite registry editor (START > RUN > regedit) and navigate to the following key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
On the right you should see all the URLs you've typed out .. double click on the one you wish to remove, and change it to something else, for example http://forum.pcmech.com/
Close regedit; restart internet explorer.

MS antispyware is horrible, I browse online with IE for around 4 hours then run MS antispyware and it finds nothing, I then run Adaware Se and I get 3-6 criticals.

Are you going into Internet Options and just clearing history or are you also deleting temporary internet files and checking delete all offline content?

A hijackThis scan most likely will turn it up. My guess is it`s nestled deeply in the registry.

(I think) Hijack This is a free spyware program that will remove that garbage. I think I've heard of it but I've never used it. Google "download hijack this spyware" and I'm sure you'll find it.

And exactly what are those criticals? I'm betting that they are just cookies. MSAS doesn't bother with cookies.

I ditto that. I noticed that Ad-Aware SE was always coming up with these critical items. Then I noticed that when I cleared my online cache (history, temporary internet files, cookies, etc) first that it would come up with nothing. It wasn't until later that I realized that it was coming up with "tracking cookies".
