My guess would be that the newest 512mb video cards or graphical cards will come around Dec-Jan and the price will drop to "normal" around March, do you guys think its worth the wait? I asked around some ppl that have knowledge about computers if "minimum requirments is skyrocketing" that the new graphical cards are upgrading major, and they said yes. So it would be great to get some input on this. Say what you want, its a free debate.

depending on the cost, I guess it could be a good buy. IMO, it is not needed yet, especially if you were planing on a SLI with two 512mb video cards, that would sound slick, but you probably wouldnt get any gain over SLI with two 256mb video cards or one really good 256mb 7800gtx or even one good 512mb video card.

Nope, I don't reckon you'll need to buy it for at least a year unless you're a business that relies on that kind of thing

There are only two games that I can think of that you may potentially see a little benefit with 512MB Video RAM - Battlefield 2 and Doom 3. But in the end, the difference in FPS is so miniscule that you'd be better off saving your money and going for the 256MB version of the X800 XL or 6800U.

I think you should wait for benchmarked tests done by Toms hardware or other reliable sources before purchasing one...if it is pointless and has not gain not even a little then obviously it would make sence no to get it.
