Hello,

i was hopping someone out there could help me. I have 5900turbo card and i am trying to conect it to my tv through s-video. Everything goes fine untill it comes to the actual desktop. FOr some reason the signal is not being recognized by my TV(i think) and the image keeps gettting resized. It will go from a small, hi res image to large low res every and back to the small, hi res every few seconds. another thing is when i go to run doom or battlefield 2 the games crash before they even have a chance to initialize. Has anyone noted this problem before?

i want to add that i can connect my laptop to the TV via s-video with no problem.

last part of the story... on my 5900 there are 2 vga ports and one port that kind looks like an s-video but it is actually for an adapter that allows for VIVO. and incase anyone is wondering i have checked to make sure that the s-video cable is conected to the video out part of this addapter.

thanks

Check Display properties...then Settings....then highlight the #2 monitor....click Advanced...then Device Control.....then just make sure the output is set for S video (NTSC). Sometimes there is a toggle for display using FN F8 or F5.....help at all? I'm not so sure about your specific card....but these are general XP video settings.....

well it will be the primary display unit, so here are a few more symptoms that i jsut noticed

if i turn the split screen option on it is fine and it doesn't go between the two diffrent settings.

also when i tried to lower the resolution it only allows me to choose from 1024x1280 or 640x480, when i chose 640x480 the screen got so big that simply one icon took up the whole screen!! it was crazy.

well any more help would be apprecuated thanks h2so4 (btw are you in to chem?)
