I've made this observation myself (for men):

Yeah, I can't believe how often I go into public restrooms and see guys leave without washing their hands. Yuck.

I avoid public restrooms as much as I can, and I will make out of the way trips back home to do so, but when I have to I make good use of my feet while using them and always wash my hand upon returning home from being out in the public. During a normal work day I may wash my hands 15-30 times a day.

Forget public sinks!

I will admit that I will leave a public restroom without washing my hands, especially if the taps are turned on/off manually. The funk that comes off the tap onto my hand when I turn the tap off is worse than...... well you know.

The key is that I carry a bottle of hand sanitizer (a.k.a. water-free soap) with me. Much more effective than soap and water.

I sneeze into the crook of my elbow, so that my hands remain clean. I also wash my hands and turn the tap off with paper towel in my hand, which I then use to open the door. People laugh and say I'm obsessive, but I know how many filthy pigs there are who don't

The one thing I don't really do much is wash my hands before eating, but more often than not thats because I only use cutlery

If this article showed the opposite result, wouldnt it be considered sexist?
