I checked all the bios settings and disabled all "wake up..." features, but it still turns on. I don't know what else can be the cause?

Are you shutting down with windows: start > shutdown?
Or manually by hand?

Did this just start happening or has it always done this?

Post your system specs and let us know if this is a home built or name brand computer.

Which OS?

What kind of background programs are running on your system?

most of them are threads about computers shutting down. Also, mine turns on immediately after it is off unlike some other people who had it turning it on minutes after. That was due to the "wake up" features. Everytime i have to shut down i have to turn off the power switch in the back, and it tries to turn on for a sec but it doesn't

Ive had the same problem before, and found it to be the mobo drivers. I formatted, and reinstalled the drives from the cd..same problem. Formatted again and installed the drivers myself (device manager, and installed everything from there rather then just letting it install off the cd) and it worked fine. Not sure why, but it worked for me.

You say this has been happening since the machine was built.
Did you build it yourself?
Are you sure the front header cabling is correct?
Have you wired the on/off switch and reset switch correctly?

So it turns on immediately after switching off? (similar to a restart? or does the computer shut all the way down, then restart?) My dead dell did this, I would have about 5 seconds to switch off the power strip, and would try to start up using the power still in the circuitry. Also mine would start up 3 or 4 seconds after turning the power strip back on, I had no control over it, I couldn't use the power button to start it up sooner.

Well I had someone build it for me, but i did the jumper cables myself. Im not sure what the front header is? Also, don't know if the on/off switch and reset switch is wired correctly becuase I had someone build it for me. Yes, the computer shuts all the way down and about 2-3 seconds later it turns on. I have no idea what might be the cause, any help would be much appreciated.

The "front header" is made up of the switches, cables, audio and USB ports at the front of your case and the associated connection points on your motherboard. At the point you are now I would thouroughly recommend an "out of case build", it is very easy to do and only takes about an hour, have a read of this thread by HAL and it will walk you through it.

Have a read of this but before you do anything come back, because you will need a few things before you start.
