I've seen some sites advertizing for a small monthly fee unlimited downloads of tv series etc, is this legal? they say it is because you are paying for tech help on how to burn dvd's and not for the downloads?

I would assume it is legal b/c you ar paying for the show, and as long as you dont make and sell copies then you are useing what you pay for for your own personal use.

tv shows are copyrighted material and any unlimited download would be very questionable, I think your required to pay for each program to be legal.

you know a better thing is just to watch them online, i think thats legal since the material is used with permision of broadcasting stations(maybe?) one good website i use is craftytv.com

Just because you pay for something does not NECESARRILY mean that it is legal! There are tons of sites out there that will sell you software/music/whatever else for a fee but a lot of them are illegal. It is up to you to check out all ToS; and also be smart about interpretting the wording on the terms and conditions.

I remember SonicVanguard saying that as long as the show is available in your area and that you do not store it on perminent media (CDs, DVDs, etc), it's legal to download.

I am always very wary of services where you have to pay to download stuff.

You mentioned that the sites offer unlimited downloads of of tv series, etc. What does this "etc." category include? In my opinion, it doesn't sound legitimate.

I've also heard about sites that offer access to file sharing programs that you use to get what you want.

Be careful, if it sounds too good to be true, it's usually bogus, and the site is usually trying to be appealing enough to get your money.
