hi. i playe an old rts game on like (empror battle of dune 2001) which have some famous bugs sutch as the game exe error and the backspace freez while chatting in server bugs , can those bugs even force win to crach?? restarting to hole pc. i had it happening a couple of times one of them was while loading a game am a bit worried after i had some power failuer problem , i just wanna know if those restarts can only be related to game craches . or could my pc be a factor again..
dunno i recently changed the power units and mb and i got a good ups. thank you

note: i only had those 2 restarts during game .

Do you only have these problems while playing the game, or do you have these problems even if you are not playing the game?

You're in luck.
That game has a dedicated fan site : http://dune2k.com/
If it's been patched then the patch is there.

yes surly i am a known member at fed2k.com the patch has nothing to do with my question.
all am asking is can games bugs (this game or any game) or freezez, can they cose the pc to restart?? i mean could the game be responsible for the crach or its a hardware
issue again.?

Yes the game can be responsible.
It's usually fixed with a patch or a driver update.
The driver is usually for the video card but there have been instances where the problem was with sound or, with Via in 2000, the motheboard AGP driver.
I don't know if you remember what happened when Funcom released Anarchy On line a few years ago but that was a game that was notorious for crashing computers, and it was the game.
Funcom pulled it, redid it, and then gave everyone their accounts back for free for a few months.
The game survived, but barely, and I hope Funcom leaned a lesson.
The first of the Thief games, Dark Project, had what was called "sudden heart attack syndrome" Garrett died and the computer froze.
Morrowind also had a crash/freeze problem, and some horrible lag, when it first came out and last year was still being patched.
Unless you have the bad luck to get a game that can corrupt your OS install, the problem usually goes away when you uninstall the game.
