i just got one of these things and i think its perfect for me... sure there are some problems with it but i dont really mind. ill list all the ones that i found so far...
the x5l is significantly thicker than the x5 version, but only by .44 inches i think
the screen is kind of small, so if you are watching a video on it that has subtitles, you really would barely be able to read it at all. no problem for me cause i know what they are saying.
you need to use the subpack that came with the player to charge it, unless you are going to get the cradle for it... the subpack is really fragile, i accidently dropped it while connected to the player and the connection part got bent and almost broke off, it still works for me. id get the cradle but that is about 30 dollars and i dont feel like ordering off the internet.
the earphones that came with the player isnt that great, the length of the wire isnt too long, just enough for it to go from your pocket to your ears =\... the sound gets messed up if its too loud....
Those are all the bad things i found bout the player but they dont bother me too much... here are some good points that i liked bout the player...
bright color screen, i can actually read the screen without the backlight unlike the other iriver h10 i had...
has an equalizer
has radio
can record voice and the radio
can see pictures and textfiles
you can put the lyrics into a textfile and then view it while listening to your music
transfer photos from digital cameras onto the player
has a reset button in case the thing freezes, unlike the ipod(at least i dont think the ipod has anything to help against freeezes)( never froze on my once yet)
VERY VERY DURABLE, i dont have a single scratch anywhere on the thing, still in perfect condition...
came with two screen protectors
convenient button locations
35 hours battery life, its much shorter if you watch videos on it or you are recordind.
no software is needed to connect the player to the computer and transfer files, just plug it in and do your stuff.
music quality sounds good to me
IT CAN PLAY VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!( you need to convert your files first and then move them onto the player)
if you have a good computer( so you can convert the file with no problems), the videos dont lag one bit.
you can choose a background for the screen when you play videos...
Thats all that i can think of off the top of my head.
