I bought a 300gb hard drive, and windows2000 is only recognizing 127gb of it... When I start my computer it says 300GB, but when windows loads, it says 127GB.
Any ideas?

Do you have SP4 for Win2k installed?

That thread says only the technicals, it doesn't explain how to fix it. I had every SP installed and it still was 127GB. Don't be an ass, I read the rules and the sticky.

I think you need to read the entire thread, iknight. glc was probably referring to this link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305098
Now a moderator note. Calling names or flaming others here goes against Forum Rules. We don't tolerate it at all; least of all aimed at the Forum Administrator. You picked the worse target possible for your verbal abuse. Consider this a first warning.
There's also an issue with 8xx Intel chipsets - you may have to install the Intel Application Accelerator in addition to the .inf chipset installer to see the whole drive.
Are you sure you don't have unallocated space after the 127gb partition? You have to use Disk Management to see that. Windows cannot expand a partition all by itself. If you already knew this, I apologize for bringing it up.
Yes, that's exactly what I was referring to - the link to the Microsoft knowledge base. It's going to be more accurate than anything I can paraphrase.
