Hi,

I have a Seagate 400GB SATA drive, I've just built a new PC using A-bit motherboard and a Intel Dual Core 3.0GHZ.

When installing a new Operating system WinXP Pro, which gave me the option to create Partitions. I decided to create the following:

C Drive: 70GB
D Drive: 10GB
E Drive: 300GB

However, once the installation was complete, I cannot see the E drive, i.e. 300G seems to have been lost.

Do I need to reformat myhard drive and create the partitions again, or can I not create more than 2 partitions????? Where can I check to see what has happeend here?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Kaleem

Welcome to PCMechanic, kaleem! :)

Do you have SP1 included with the copy of XP you have? It could also be that the 300GB partition hasn't got a filing system on it.

Thannks for your help - Problem resolved.

I actually went into Disk Management where it had stated that 300G was unallocated on my Hard Drive, I then assigned the Drive a letter and formatted that particular Partition.

Cheers
