When I'm trying to install something it says

C:\temp\install\install.exe
c:\\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.

wether I push close or ignore the task just goes away
I don't really get what this means could one of you people "translate" this for me?

Try this:
Make a backup of c:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT (in case this doesn't work).
Then go in c:\WINNT\Repair\ and copy the AUTOEXEC.NT file in that directory into c:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\ , overwriting the original (if it still exists).
Keep in mind, I have never done this before, I found this fix on google.

Haha it turns out when I dragged the one out of repair into the first folder, it didn't even have the file. So I guess that solves the problem. Thanks

If you search these forums for "autoexec.nt" you will find several threads on this subject and several ways of fixing it too.
