Looking for inexpensive Video Card

I'm currently trying to develop a parts list for a budget computer build. I am going to use a Sempron 64 2800 for my CPU with the Asus K8N motherboard so I am looking for an AGP card. I'm not a hard core gamer but would like to be able to run a few games. My preference is for an Nvidia card because I would like to try to run Linux, but if I could get a compatable ATI that would be fine. My real priority is having a low cost card. Can I get a decent card in the sub-$75 or so price range? Or would I be better off just going with onboard video given my budget priorities and light gaming? Is the onboard video on the Asus K8V-MX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131549 sufficient for light gaming? Thanks everyone.

I recommend for your price an ATi 9600 Pro, they run about $70 but you can get one refurbished cheaper on newegg. If you want nvidia I would recommend a FX5700 which runs about $70 refurbed or a new FX5500 runs $70 which you can also get refurbished on newegg for less.

Nvidia GeForce 2GTS is beautiful 32mb - under $50. jst make sure u get a retail box w/manual and drivers. Do not goto overstock.com Crd also manuf by visiontek - Nvidia crds and base crds hav alot of linux driver support available.

Here's an option to consider. I don't know what games you want to play but you may find onboard graphics adequate. And AGP is slipping away with PCI-express taking the front seat in video cards. Buying an AGP mobo now may limit any future upgrades. I've used an MSI board for my last two builds with the same 2800 Sempron in a 754 socket. The one I used has an ATI chipset and has proven to be a very stable combo. I sold one and the second is sitting here running Folding @Home 24/7. This board is mATX and comes with a PCI-E slot in addition to the onboard. Check it closely, it has great specs including SATA/Raid. Newegg sells it for $91 including freight but you can get it at ZipZoomFly for $79. I highly recommend this one. Newegg has more specs listed but here's a link for both NE and ZZF.
