This might be a clue. I really don't know.
"Interlacing
When referring to a computer monitor interlacing is a method of how an image on a computer monitor is refreshed. An interlaced refresh, refreshes an image on the screen by scanning every other line and on the next scan scanning every opposite line. This allows for a faster refresh rate, and less information during each scan, and generally a lower price. Unfortunately this may cause flickering or noticeable line movements in some situations."
Any electrical/magnetic/electronic devices near the monitor that might cause interference like speakers or desk fans? What refresh rate are you using?

That's interesting, if it's only 3 years old it should be able to handle a refresh rate higher than that. What video card??
That monitor is capable of 75 and 85 Hz at 1024x768. If the geometry is off, you can correct it with the onscreen display controls. 70Hz is not a common refresh rate and a lot of monitors don't really care for it.
The Xflats weren't really one of KDS's better efforts.
