Hey guys,

I've been recently looking into upgrading my graphics card from my MSI 6600GT to a 7800GT or 7800GTX (around christmas time).

I was looking around at newegg and searched for the 7800GT and 7800GTX seperatley just to get an idea of the price difference.

It seems that between the two versions of the cards, that theres almost a $100 difference and thier specs look almost identical. They both have 256MB of memory and 20 pipelines. So what is the defference between the GT and GTX?

Also, what manufacturer would you recomend? right now, im leaning towards eVGA or MSI.

Thanks,

The 7800GT's core/memory speeds are 400MHz / 500MHz, while the GTX's speeds are 430MHz / 600 MHz. You can compare them here:

I would get the one that you can most comfortably afford.

Oh, and eVGA or MSI both make excellent cards.

GT has 20 Rendering Pixel Pipelines - GTX has 24.
