Ok...where to begin...
ASUS 87nx mobo 1 gig 3200 two SATA drives one aprox 100 gig then bought another aprox 200 gig (SEAGATE)
had my machine for some time now aprox 3 years with no problems, then about 2 months ago trouble with my main C:\ drive ..weird boots blue screens ect. Checked my admin system event viewer and had disc read errors. Then machine would not reboot. Took machine to local computer guy and he said hard disc crapped out. Got my data back with a NEW Seagate hard disc :) Then he mentioned to me that my data drive (2nd disc) was not getting good reads and was getting hot. He recomended since they were both under warranty that I should have them replaced. To make long story longer I gave him my data drive as well. So both disc's were sent to Seagate for warranty rebate and I bought a brand new c:\ drive so I could get my PC up ASAP.
Ok ...so I get both disc's back and i figure I could use one for data. I connect warrantied disc and about two weeks into install I get same activity and condition that crapped out my main drive (Brand new C:\ drive is working just fine by the way). High CPU usage spikes on reading disc mouse activity freezez. Disc error on System log in event viewer. So I figure it's got to be another bad disc from the factory (refurbished, rebuilt, warrantied disc's by the way) so I put in the other warranteed disc.....guess what? Same damn thing!!! Same CPU spikes same read errors !! Could it be that I got two crappy return disc's from Seagate? New C:\ drive is working fine. Checked all cables and connections. Disc's are formatted and partitioned and read fine on bios boot up. What am I missing? Thank you all for your replies
