I gotton the ati 9800 pro today from a friend today. I instilled it on my pc properly wit the p2 inside of the white socket on the video card. Then after properly installin my video card, i plug in my monitor thing and my power cord. Then nothin comes on my monitor and when i turn it on the floppy lights go on. Does this mean i need some floppy or wat. Cuz i neva got one! He told me this was an oem. Any suggestion?!?

What are your full system specs? Does your mobo have on-board video? if it does you have to take out the card go into the bios and disable the on-board video then shut it down again and install the card.

Sounds like you don't have enough power. 240W is a bit weak.

Sounds like you don't have enough power. 240W is a bit weak.I don't think so, either. Isn't a 350W recommended ?

Hey ice... mobo=motherboard :D

Edit: my bad... I think I misunderstood your earlier post.

Based on the user manual (http://www2.ati.com/manuals/r9800Getting_Started.pdf), it looks like ATI recommends a 300W PSU for the 9800. Having said that, going a little higher probably wouldn't hurt if you can afford it - just make sure you get a good one! Chere here (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=101151) or here (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195) for more info.

Yea does sound like the psu is at fault. Try unplugging (just power wire) all your optical drives, and case fans(not the cpu fan), if you could or have any pci cards in it remove them and see if it works, still might not work but its worth a shot.
