Hello
i have two laptops which i would like to link up temporarily with an ethernet cable for filesharing until i have enough money for a wireless system with an external HD. What would I need to set up an ethernet network? and how do i do it?
Would greatly appreciate any help,

You need a cross over cable to link from one to the other directly.

Nope, that's it. Just rename the Workgroup so both are in the same one and set the Share properties on the folders/files you want to share.
