I've been looking at buying a pda/phone and have narrowed it down to a Sony Ericsson K750i and the Nokia N90. I seen a movie clip made on the N90 thats demonstrates its video quality, but I think its been digitally enhanced.

You can see what I mean here (http://www.zippyvideos.com/3266191961679686/waterski/*edpin). Has anyone got an N90 and can confirm this?

I want to be sure about this before I go into the store and face the sales guy.

I dont know if the video is doctored, I dont think it is; the N90 does have a much better camera than the k750i. It all comes down to how important the camera is for the phone. If you're looking for portability the K750i is MUCH smaller... 100x46x20x99g as opposed to 112x51x24x173g for the n90 (heightxwidthxdepthxweight).
Personally, I would go with the N90, it's got a lot more going for it including Bluetooth 2.0, EGPRS, WCDMA 2100; I'd rather buy MMCs than SmartMedia.... there are many more good features over the N90.

Hi,
by the way, what's WCDMA 2100 for?

In the simplest terms, WCDMA - Wideband CDMA is used by UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecom. System) or 3G (3rd generation networks), these offer much higher data rates than simple EDGE or GPRS. Check out this (http://www.radio-electronics.com/info/cellulartelecomms/umts/umts_wcdma_tutorial.php) for a good starter reading on WCDMA.

Wow, Statica you're a mine of information.
Althought both phones have 2MP cameras, the quality (Carl Zeiss on the N90 I believe) is important to me since I take loads of pics. Plus I prefer using Multi Media Cards anyway.

I'm going to head over to the store in the next day or two for a hands-on demo. I'll let you know how I get on.

HI it is probably a matter of personal preference.it is true that Nokia dont always have the latest/all the gimmiks but you very rarely see a Nokia coming back for service as opposed to Sony-Ericsson, the p800/p900 notorious for there keypad related problems,(dosent hang up or dosent take the call or answers without you wanting to), other problems are sim card recognition some Sony-Ericsson are problematic in that area and are generally more fragile then Nokia phones.
I worked in the buisness for a time and that's my experience.for whats it's worth.

Plus be aware about the text input, some PDA/phones like mine Blackberry 7100g, have a differnt text input like Suretype, which i hated at first, but now i love it, i used to have T9 (http://www.textfast.t9.com/) on my old V3, i loved that too, its all personal preferances is guess.
