Im not going to go in to the very long and confusing story of why I did what I did, but to make a very very long story short I borrowed a IDE cable from one computer (that was working) to test out a new build. The new build wont even power, so I returned the IDE cable to my older custom build and now that computer wont go past the post screen. My question is for the computer that wont go past the post screen. I returned the IDE cable to the exact same position it was in and all the connections are in firm. Ive checked them and checked them again and it still will not go past the post screen. The IDE cable which I borrowed was the IDE cable from the Hard Drive. My computer starts up, goes to the post screen and stops. The computer wont detect the keyboard aswell, so I cant even get in to the bios. What is going on??

You may not have connected it the same way it was originally. If your drives are set to cable select and the cable is not on right it will not boot. An 80 conductor cable has to be put on correctly. ALso check to see if you bent any pins on the drives both the harddrive and the optical drives.

You may have shifted the motherboard in the case or knocked something else loose while messing around in there.
