i have been doing a lot of builds lately with the 2600+ sempron and the 2800+ sempron 64 with the asus k8s-mx. i absolutely love this board, but my biggest complaint is i still need to load drivers for sata to work.
i need a board that has everything onboard including video. these are budget computers, so price is an issue, but quality is key. if this asus is the best i can do i will stick with it, but i wanted to see if i had an other options
thanks

I've built two 754's w/Sempron 2800's and used this board.

There's a newer one now:

Hard to see the specs at ZZF. Newegg does a better job of showing specs but the 2nd board is all they carry and it's on back order.
Note they both have onboard video and PCI-e slots for later upgrades. Comes with the Sata driver on a floppy so need need to make one. Very nice boards and stable too.
edit: One more thing. DON'T use Kingston value ram with this board. I used Corsair on one and it works great but I got lock ups with Kingston. Just figured out the problem yesterday.

thanks for the recommendation, PR, but i am looking for a board that doesn't require drivers. i don't even know if they make such a thing for 754, but i know all the intels i have built haven't required the use of drivers, windows automatically recognizes the HD. is teh same thing available on 754?
thanks

I'm sorry. I was thinking of another board. No drivers required on that one. The SATA is native.
