My issue is kind of weird, but I've had weird issues before that you guys have helped resolve (much thanks!), so here's hoping...

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 notebook with a built-in wireless network card, which I recently configured to work with a Netgear WGT624 v3 wireless router. When my notebook is running off a hard-line, it boots quickly. However, when I have the wireless card enabled, my system seemingly takes forever to boot.

Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas that might help resolve my issue?

Has it always been that way??

For as long as I've been trying to use it, yes.

I actually did some research and found that assigning a static IP to my wireless card did the trick. My notebook boots just fine now.

It might be taking a while to obtain a IP from the router -- this could explain the slow boot time. Giving the notebook a static wireless IP is one way to bypass this. Do other wireless devices have trouble getting IP's from the Netgear router by chance? HTH

Glad you found it, I forget about that problem because I assign static to all my PCs, and that is just one of the reasons I do that.

Are you using Windows to manage the wireless, or the Intel utility?
