Hello,

I'm building a new system and am seriously considering the following monitor(s):

SAMSUNG 204T-Black 20.1" 16ms LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 0.255mm Pixel Pitch - Retail

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824001194

AND

SAMSUNG 214T-Black 21.3" 8 (G to G) LCD Monitor - Retail

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16824001211

Am I okay with this for heavy gaming? Mostly City of Heroes MMORPG, but I also play a lot of F.E.A.R., Civ IV, The Movies and a few others.

I read some of the reviews and it seems the majority are very pleased with this monitor...just want to be sure.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

P.S. If most believe this to be a poor LCD for gaming then any suggestions for a good one would be most appreciated. About 1,000 budget.

i was going to say go crt. but the way it looks you arent needing the 100+fps. you are mostly mmorpg. so lcd i guess would work fine as to which one i do not know haha

LCDs are fine for gaming. The current generation ones have no ghosting and work very well in first person shooters. I just bought a 19" samsung lcd for Christmas and it's breathtaking, and I have yet to find any problems when playing Call of Duty 2.

The only problem you might run into with those monitors is its wide screen since only a handful of newer games naitively support a 16:9 aspect. Non-supportive ones display in 4:3 with black boxes on the sides or allow you to stretch it across the screen. If you dont mind then it should spectacular. I do not know much about those monitors in particular, other than Samsung is a good brand.
