Hi.. finally had a chance to try out my new PCMech CD. Had some problems others (and PCMech) may want to know about.
On my PIII-933 computer (w. Acrobat Reader 4 (my favorite.. AR5 was terrible) and Win98SE w. 256MB RAM), the CD started fine, and the BMOPC file opened fine. I then tried the "other software" tab. One file would open fine, but when I tried to go back and then open a second, the computer hung. This happened every time I tried it.
I then put the PCMech CD in my P4-2.8GH computer (with Win XP, 512MB RAM, and, again, AR4). Started fine, and the "other software" section worked flawlessly. When I tried to open the "BMOPC" part, I got an "Error Opening File: There is No Application Associated with the Given File Name extension" error message. I tried to associate AR4 with it, but no luck. I then installed AR7 from the PCMech CD, and the "BYOPC" opened fine. I then deleted AR4 from my computer, and tried to open "BYOPC". Got the same error message as before. Repairing AR7 caused "BYOPC" to work fine.
All other sections of the CD have worked fine on my XP machine.
Happy with the CD, but there are some issues with it. Hope this helps someone with similar problems.
