Strange are the goings-on behind my Mozilla 0.9.2
Go to a given website, and I get a popup about "This page contains information of a type (application/x-java-vm) that can only be viewed with the appropriate plug-in."
Click OK to download the plugin (it goes off to Netscape's FTP site), and defaults to the Netscape 6 folder/subfolder/andothersubfolder//....crash.
I figure, OK, this ain't never gonna work, so I go direct to Mozilla.org, get JRE 1.3 (the proper xpi) and voila, there's a direct link. Hit the link, it (supposedly) installs. Happy camper, not.
Back to said website, same popup.
Twice now, same troubles.
What the heck? I just want the stupid message to stop popping up, whenever I go to this (and quite a few other) websites.
On another note, I managed to (finally) download and install NS6.1 OOOOOHHHHH, AAAAAHHHHH (Not!).
Anyhow, all I really want to do, is make a shortcut to it on the desktop (Gnome) and in the taskbar. If I can get one, I can get the other.
Default installation is in the /usr/local/netscape/ folder. (Why, I have no idea)...
