Would any one recommend this drive? There is a one day sale at newegg, and I wanted to grab it before the price went up. I will be using it to mainly back-up my computer. It seems like a great price.

Thanks, Matt

Western Digital Essential WDXUL800BB 80GB 7200 RPM 2MB Cache USB 2.0 External Hard Drive - Retail

It's not that great of a deal. (not bad either)
You can get a 200 gig drive for 85 bucks and an external enclosure for another 25.00...

Thanks stvy,
But for a simple external hard drive it is a good buy? It was cheaper than all the rest.
I am not sure quite how to build the internal hard drive in the external enclosure. Is there compatability issues, and can it work as a simple plug and play mass storage device into a usb port same as the external hard drive I posted in the above link? I really only need around 80 gigs. And is there the same portability as the above external hard drive?
Thanks, Matt

For a simple solution like you're wanting, the drive will do just fine.

Getting a drive and an external enclosure would be a little more flexable in that you can use different drives if you needed too. This combo connects to the pc via USB just like the one you've picked out. If you don't need the extra flexiblity, go with the one you picked out.
