I am a first time builder and jsut built my enw computer. I turn it on and everything is fine but the Western Digital 80 GB harddrive wont turn on, even though it finds my cd rom drives. It is brand new, on master with its own cord. Does any one know the problem?

This may sound strange, but try setting the drive to CS. Also, how do you have your drives laid out?
Western Digital drives won't work jumpered to Master if there's no slave drive present. You have to use CS if the cable is capable, or remove the jumper.

Here's the jumper configurations glc is referring to. Notice the Single Drive or Neutral setting shows no jumper installed. Personally, I just always use Cable Select (CS).
