Printer began to act up when printing out of WEB. All of a sudden began to give "illegal operation" window. What did I do before this? Well I had installed an old printshop Deluxe software for 3.1 and Win95. I used it once to print a banner and then decided to uninstall it, but it wasn't listed at remove/install programs, so I deleted it out of programs and proceded to regedit until I found one file with printshop deluxe, I deleted it. Again this is when the printer began to act up. So I decided to uninstall HP930 sofware from remove/install and proceded to install it again. Now I am following the Qhickstart for USB cable setup but when I get to the part when I choose the Win98usb file out of d: I get a window "copying files the file Hpzuci00.dll on deskjet 930 can't be found. Then when I select the Win98usb file from d: another window comes on "Windows 98 Setup invalid option specified. Type setup and see option". It seems as if I see the printer being installed as USB under decive manager but not listed under printers. When I try to add hardware it says "the specified location does not contain info about your hardware". How can I recover?

Boot to real DOS and do a scanreg /restore - pick a date from before you installed the old Printshop.

It worked. I noticed a had a choice of dates and the first few I picked said
"System restore operation failed". I got to one and it allowed me to restore allright. After that I deleted printed from device manager, rebooted and reinstalled driver and later installed HP software. Why did it failed the first tries and what other OS will this command work for? Thanks a lot.
