Hey guys, what Linux OS would be good for a fresh build. I'm thinking of possibly a Live CD version. I am new to Linux and need all the info and direction I can get.
Thanks in advance,

Are you installing the OS or just trying it out? A Live CD doesn't actually install the OS.

I've tried serveral distros and Ubuntu is my choice... the install is easy and the forums are fantastic.

Ubuntu is great for beginners. A lot of people like SUSE, but I have yet to try it out. There is a lot of documentation on Ubuntu, and a lot of users to help you out. Ubuntu also has a Live CD so you can try it out first, and they have a 64 bit version if you have a 64 bit CPU.

The 64 bit version is still not fully supported. Run the 32 bit version regardless of your CPU.
