Just recently re-formatted to get rid of all the cob webs and what-nots. I installed IE6 (the latest and greatist ?) with outlook express 6. All works just fine with the exception that I haven't been able to stop MSN Messenger from loading. I've disabled it in the System Config Utility inside Microsoft Sys info, and also, in the Outlook express tools/options tab. I have gone back repeatedly in the System Config Utility to uncheck so the applet won't load. The dadgum thing is relentless! Ok, I'm open to suggestions and would appreciate them! Thanks for your time!

I think the only way is to go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall it.

EzyStvy, that's a thought, too. But, I don't see it anywhere as an option for an uninstall.

Try Windows Setup from the Add/Remove Programs. Even if it shows as not being installed, check the box to install and let it do the install. Then reboot, go back in and uncheck it to uninstall it.

Thankyou Hal, but, this came weaved into IE6. I looked in the Windows Setuptab anyway, but, there's no such thing there either. I've also checked with uninstalling IE, just short of committing to the uninstall, but there's no such monkey relating to this progie. No luck yet...

The only way to stop it from loading at start up is to sign up for the service and then once you do go to tools>options>prefereces and uncheck the run at start up option. I do not know of anyway to remove it.

Thanx all for the replys. I decided to uninstall it the un-orthodox way by deleting it in Program files and in the Windows directory folder. That fixed it fine.

Hey, lil Jimmy, that's Microsoft's neat way to say that you have more subscribers than AOL's instant messenger or any other instant chat progie, huh! Kinda like Ford selling a boat load of Taurus' to the rental companies for dirt so they can say they out sold the Honda Accord. Gotta love it.

Actually, I've been playing with IE6 at work and what I did was downloaded MSN, installed it, it then showed in the add/remove programs, so I uninstalled it and then it was gone completely.

HA! What a ditz! Your right Hal! Don't I feel like the horses pitute! So here's where I eat my previous comments in the other post. Yeah, all I had do do was to scroll FARTHER down in the add\remove programs and it was there looking back at me. Thanx Hal9000!
