Hey I bet a lot of you have already seen this but toms hardware just modded a computer case, sealed it off, and filled it with 8 gallons of vegetable oil. This is crazy, why anyone would actually do this I am not sure but it's still pretty cool. I had no idea you could even submerge a PC in liquid and have it still work. huh! http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/01/09/strip_out_the_fans/index.html

(btw... how do I rename links so that i could post "oil filled pc" as the above link instead of that whole url? save it as a bookmark?)

That idea is VERY old... I remember reading a similar article on windrivers.com over 6 years ago where this guy not only submersed the PC in oil, but refridgerated the oil as well in an attempt at an extreme overclock/

I suppose if the oil got hot enough it could double for a french frie machine.

did the refridgerated oil end up supporting the over-clocked PC ?

No.. the whole project was a bust really... the refrigerated oil got thicker and the fans used to circulate it couldn't handle the density of the cooled oil.
