Recently ordered a new psu for my first build - Enermax 535w SLI w/SATA, dual rails, 20-24 pin connector. I assumed it would work with my mobo, K8N Neo Platinum which has a 20 pin connector + 4 pin aux. The 4 pin detachable seems all wrong for the aux. position - I need two grounds + two 12v which it does not have. Information on psu's is vague at best. Is there any way to make what I have work correctly?

The 20-24 pin connector is the main power supply for your motherboard. I think the K8N Neo Platinum should have a 24 pin, but if it doesnt, simply detach the extra 4 pins from the main connector and leave them unused.
The AUX power connector you refer to is seperate to this entirely, and supplies power to your CPU. Your power supply will have this connector in addition to the main one.

Thanks for the reply - walked over to the case just now and there are no other 4 pin connectors in the psu harness. Only the one that detaches from the motherboard plug....

I'm such a bonehead - just found the answer to my question in the small parts box. There is a short pigtail adapter to use for an aux. 12v position. Must learn to pay attention to details....Thanks again
