Here's my configuration: I have a SATA Raptor that is my main HDD with WinXP on it. I also have two other IDE HDDs that I use for storage and some of my programs. Do you guys think it would be best for me to install Linux on the same HDD as WinXP with a second partition, or should I put it on one of the IDE drives? I'm not sure how good Linux is about supporting SATA. Ideas?

P.S.
I would prefer to have both OSes on the same HDD if I can.

I like having linux on a separate drive myself but it's purely a matter of personal preference.

Linux will install fine on your existing Windows HD assuming you have unpartitioned space for it. Most distro installs will automatically configure the boot loader to allow a dual boot.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a whirl.
