Switch the PSU to this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103931) one. The one you listed is a server PSU. case: Look at the Antecs, there are several nice ones available without PSUs OS: This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16837102059) will do unless you need some specific feature of XP Pro. HD: OEM is fine there Motherboard: You listed an SLI board. You only need that if you are planning on running two video cards. Overkill and a waste of money for almost everyone. Drop down to the non-SLI version. ASUS would be best. HD: Get the SE version of that drive or look at the 16Mb cache drive. This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16822144701)would be a good choice. Floppy Drive: Likely to be needed during setup and handy to have for diagnostics, bios updates, system recovery etc.. Optical Drives: Liteon has some nice dual layer CD/DVD burners that come with the burning software and a couple with the Lightscribe feature.

One of the ASUS A8 boards without sli would be fine, get the ATX size and the nvidia chipset, and onboard video if you want that. This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131530)one should be good.

If you buy the retail package of the CPU that you want, it comes with a HSU. The retail HSU are OK for mild OC.
As for buying OEM HDs, that's the cheapest way to go. And you generally get cables for HD with the mobo.
